9 Satanic Questions with Jeramiah

May 26, 2008 on 3:55 pm | In 9 Satanic Questions, Satanism | No Comments

This is an ongoing series where I find out what individual Satanist’s believe. Jeramiah from myspace ( http://www.myspace.com/jeramizzle666 ) was kind enough to answer my nine questions. In these uncertain times, stating one’s beliefs is the surest method of disturbing the silent and complacent truth within us all…

.

.

1. Who are you (in detail)?

.

I am a 24 year old single dude with tattoos and a shitty job. I am a rather lanky, passive person and I’m what I like to call “cyber social”. My zodiac is Leo and I tend to fall into the introverted type aspects of some Leo’s. I am a loyal friend and confidant and I consider myself to be rather artistic in a few areas. I write the occasional poem and draw every once in a while. I’m a huge horror buff and a sucker for goth girls. I am also an avid reader and I enjoy my space too much. If I could be summed up in one word it would be eccentric. I’ve been following the LHP for about 9 years now and it’s truly inspired a lot of positive changes in my life.

I would have to say that my worst quality is that I’m ridiculously shy and not too outgoing. I am also an ex-con. I would have to say that I have transcended stereo-types and don’t really fall into any fashion group. The only thing people are capable of pinning me down with is my blatant Satanism. I’m very open about it and I have obvious tattoos. My best feature is my eyes. Enough about me, on to the good stuff!

.

.

.

2. There seems to be a duality in Satanism that consists of the primitive and animalistic along with the analytical and philosophical; both intellectual and anti-intellectual. What are your thoughts on this?

.

My take on this is that we are all at core very instinctual animals but we have also developed a very large brain due to evolution. So now we have to find ways to compensate for having such a large brain and utilize it to our advantage. For people like me it’s almost my MO to over-analyze and intellectualize everything that is presented to me and this is where humans and animals differ. Animals don’t think about shit, they just do it. My animalistic side wants to further my genetics while my intellectual side wants to make sure that my mate is suitable to handle the task of being a parent. So it’s kind of a healthy mix of indulging in our animalistic side while being smart about it and thinking about stuff before we do it.

I think philosophy is a means that the human animal utilizes to make sense out of the world around him/her. It is our way of rationalizing the human experience. Putting words to it so to speak. Now I think that my primitive side has no place in my existence because I like to consider myself a “civilized animal” (I know this is an oxymoron but it works well) and in order to be civilized we have to act in an appropriate manner with others. Civilized, because I HAVE to play well with others. And Animal, because I have the same urges and instincts that other animals have. This is just my interpretation of what LaVey wrote though. My friend said that term reminded him of a wolf wearing a tuxedo! That’s such a fitting image of what we’ve become.

.

.

.

3. Can Satanism progress/advance in a closed system… meaning without contributions from other religions, philosophies, and aesthetics?

.

I think what LaVey coined as Satanism works the best how it is because it can be applied to every facet of life. I think since the basis of Satanism is that “I am the god of my own subjective world.” It can be used as a tool to live life how you want to as opposed to how others want you to. Since Satanism is more or less just a tool it is easy for it to progress in a closed system because the system is pretty basic to begin with. I’m not saying that we shouldn’t add upon what was founded or that what LaVey wrote is some kind of deity inspired iron tablet of infernal truth, but do so accordingly to what is ultimately best for you. Just give credit where credit is due. One thing that LaVey mentions is that when you’ve painted yourself into a corner it is okay for you to say I’m sorry could we work this out, so there is plenty of room for incorporating new ideas/philosophies and aesthetics. We are not a narrow minded group of people for the most part, or at least the Satanists I associate with. Satanism is also an amalgamation of various different ideas and philosophies anyways so it is within the realm of possibility to make it work for you currently and to stay current with changing times. Pretty flexible bunch we are. Satanism will only move forward if the individual is progressive instead of complacent.

.

.

.

4. Does Modern Satanism need change, in your view, or should it try to endure as it is now?

.
I think the CoS needs an overhaul but I think modern Satanism is fine where it’s at. If people are going to put on the horns they need to fully understand what kind of responsibility they are taking on. I don’t want it to become mainstream or trendy but I want people to have a firm grasp on what they are choosing to call themselves. It definitely needs less whiny weaklings that are mad at mommy and daddy and more strong creative individuals to further it along. I have no problems with Satanism as it was designed by LaVey, I am thoroughly disgusted by how the CoS has perverted it. So the figureheads of modern Satanism need change not the philosophy itself.

.

.

.

5. If there was a time when the rule of law completely broke down, Lord of the Flies style, what would you do? How would you survive, entertain yourself, and be productive?

.
I would man up and survive my ass off! I would learn to hunt and fight and provide for my pack while being a source of entertainment for others by telling stories and doing mock plays. I would entertain myself by making surreal macabre cave paintings and writing on my own hand made parchment. To be productive I would learn about everything my little world now consisted of and teach others how to harness what we had to survive on. I would build a kick ass tree house too! Stories by bonfire would be awesome!

.

.

.

6. Do you believe that certain individuals in society should have a different set of rights and privileges than others? If so, then who should these certain individuals be?

.
No. I think that what our rights were to begin with when America was formed were just fine and they tailored to everyone including the government. Now it seems that our government has more rights and privileges than your average citizen. I don’t think cops should be able to throw on their sex lights just to evade a red light! They should sit there and be patient like everyone else has to! Just because you have a lofty position shouldn’t exclude you from experiencing life like everyone else has to. Equal rights to everyone would be wonderful, not just to those that are well off financially. If I had money I probably wouldn’t have spent as much time as I did in jail/prison and that’s how our judicial system works. If you got money then suddenly you have more rights than everyone else.

.

.

.

7. Do you consider yourself a fetishist? What do you find attractive and sexually inviting in a woman (or man or bowl of jell-o, etc.)?

.
Yes, I have a thing for Latex, Pleather, Leather, and Rubber clothing on chicks. I’m a huge fan of the BDSM environment. I like to dominate, choke, and restrain petite, pale, skinny goth chicks. I like using my size to my sexual advantage with smaller women. The whole choking thing doesn’t work too well though because it tends to leave bruises and makes people wary of you like you are hurting the chick just to be mean. But little do they know it’s all for fun and pain baby! Yeah, I’m a weirdo. I really find all of your basic sub-conscious indicators attractive too like wide hips, big ass (one in the same usually) and shiny hair extremely appealing. But I’m a sucker for raven haired, porcelain skin beauties with tattoos and piercings. Not too big on the huge gauged jewelry though. I’m really flexible though. She has to stimulate both brains in order for me to pursue a relationship. I want someone that will challenge me mentally and make me think. If she’s a shallow idiot I probably won’t even be able to screw her anyways. Beauty and brains go hand in hand for me.

.

.

.

8. Should Satanism embrace and sanctify marriage considering it’s a legal contract awash in dogmatic christian ideology?

.
Well first off, I don’t believe in marriage. Yes, I know it exists but it’s not for me. But the concept of marriage isn’t exclusively Christian in nature. The way most Americans view marriage is definitely full of a bunch of Christian dogmatic bull crap. The verbal/legal bond that you commit to in front of all of your loved ones and each other has existed for many, many years. From a satanic standpoint I don’t think it’s necessary. Personally I don’t need a piece of paper proclaiming my love and undying loyalty to my mate. Plus, I don’t think that most people understand what they’re getting themselves into and end up getting a divorce. Most people don’t really know what they want and thus making marriage a wasted endeavor. If you are capable of being monogamous and loving that person until you die then go for it! I think the idea of marriage is also a chick thing. It’s more tailored for the woman. It’s an excuse to dress up and wear your best jewelry and look fabulous! Guys I think really don’t care about this outdated ritual as much. But regardless it’s still a ritual and maybe a very important one at that. Man needs ritual right?

.

.

.

9. What’s your opinion on the following: H.P. Lovecraft, The Temple of Set, Scientology, Bob Dobbs Jr. and the Church of the Subgenius, Chaos Magic, and Nazism/National Socialism?

.
I absolutely LOVE H.P. Lovecraft! He is one of the only authors that has actually made me truly claustrophobic with his words of clawing through a dark opening in the earth. He is a truly fantastic author! The mythos really appeals to me and a few of my friends though and if I had a car it would have a Cthulhu fish on it and a plush Cthulhu doll on the dash. Ever since I heard of the Necronomicon I’ve had a penchant for Lovecraftian lore. It doesn’t get any more mysterious that a book bound in human flesh and written in human blood!

The Temple of Set is a great tool like anything else to achieve a greater understanding of the self and they focus almost entirely on the xeper which is in essence the self. The fundamentals Of Setian philosophy are essentially identical to Satanism with different terminology. I jive very well with personal growth so I think if it works for you then go for it! I have always had a thing for Ancient Egyptian mythology so I think it was a neat idea. Set was one of the only creatures that we still don’t know what it really was, there’s a lot of mystery about Set. He’s an alluring archetype, but nothing more. I don’t view Set as a being, but a symbol just like Satanists use Satan/Lucifer. Mike Aquino is a very intelligent man, I have nothing but good things to say about intelligent people, but I’m sure the CoS has tried to make his life a living hell! They start smear campaigns on people that don’t believe the same way they do which is in my opinion very Christian of them. I’m a very open minded person so whatever’s clever!

I had to do some extensive research on Scientology before coming to a conclusion on it. All I really ever heard about Scientology was a stupid South Park episode where they made fun of it. I agree with the survival aspect of it but I don’t agree with its means. I agree with their aversion towards drugs but I don’t agree with their rehabilitation means. From a medicated standpoint I think that some drugs are very helpful if your brain doesn’t work right to begin with. I also think that some drugs like pot used recreationally are a great way to not only medicate but to wind down. I am a believer that people medicate in legal ways as well. The American grieving process usually consists of either a bunch of your favorite beer or a bottle of hard liquor. I think that Scientology might help weak people get off of drugs but I think that they focus too much time and effort on it. The war on drugs is part of the reason I went to prison and I think that part of the prison population is a waste of not only my tax dollars but yours as well, so I’m going to have to disagree with Scientologists supporting such a hopeless cause. I’m going to end my opinions on this matter by stating I do not believe in the spiritual and I also don’t believe we have a soul so the basics of Scientology are a back track in human evolution. they don’t seem to be able to accept life as it really is and need some mystical mumbo jumbo to make their lives better. But if it works for you then great! I think it made Tom Cruise crazy though!

I don’t really know where to start on the Church of the Subgenius, it has a very surreal element to it and I dig surrealism. I do not however like the give me money approach to learning more about “Slack”or “Bob’s” drug of choice “Frop”. Maybe this Church is a reversion back into the acid days?! It certainly makes me feel like I’m tripping or reading a Mad magazine! I tried to read a FAQ but they were just beating around the bush and not really addressing the questions. Apparently they want money to tell you crazy nonsense! One thing I did like about it was that they are anti-religion or a mockery of religion, not something to be taken seriously which I can appreciate. When I was is high school I wanted to start a Cheese-ism Cult where we worshipped Cheese and followed the five nipples of faith! Looking back at that period of my life I am reminded of it with The Church of the Subgenius! Good times! Maybe I will become an ordained SubGenius Minister? Who knows…

The idea of Chaos Magic is interesting but not something I would pursue for my chosen method of “Reality Hacking”. What Wikipedia had to offer on the subject was pretty vague but informative in the fact that Chaos Magic was basically pioneered by a splinter of The Order of the Golden Dawn movement. I was moved by Crowley’s book “Diary of a Drug Fiend” and I agree with some of the base fundamentals of The Golden Dawn but I don’t buy into the whole spiritual or paranormal side of the whole thing. I don’t believe that the universe is a conscious thing or that even if it was that it would care. So I think that the basis of magic is to exact change in an otherwise unchangeable world. I don’t really view magic as anything other than a means of purging emotions and/or energy, but if it works to my advantage then so be it. Perhaps it is the luck of the draw.

Nazism. Hmmmm…I’m a very opinionated bastard on this topic. I think that Nazism is NOT congruent with contemporary Satanism in almost all instances. There seems to be a trend with the newbies trying to incorporate the “aesthetic” of Nazism into Satanism and the two are like oil and water. I just spent 20 months in a place where if you weren’t a Neo-Nazi you weren’t anybody and everyone was required to choose a side. I think this environment (prison) and the current environment supported by the CoS and other Satanic organizations are a back track in the progression of individualism because Nazism is a conform or die kind of philosophy. What I find funny about all of this idolization of Hitler and the current Nazi fetishes is that Hitler would have killed most if not all of us because he viewed America as a bunch of Mongrels . The other thing that really gets me is why idolize a piece of shit? Hitler might have been a genius in a few areas (military, leadership, art, politics) but he still killed 6 million innocent people! That is not a live and let live philosophy! Satanists are supposed to keep to themselves and not screw with anyone else’s way of life unless they were messed with first and Hitler didn’t abide by these laws of the earth. The aesthetics I don’t really click with either as they are still heavily tied into the racist stigma of the whole operation. Sure I liked the jack boots but I can go buy a pair of knee high Docks at any boot store. What’s history is past and the past should remain where it is. The obsession with Nazi Germany is pretty lame. I don’t even want to be associated with people that are claiming to be Satanists but put swastikas on their walls next to their Baphomets or think that the choreography is “cool” or the lighting is somehow pleasing. I just really don’t understand why people think that takers of innocent lives are Satanic because they’re not. There is and was no individualism in Nazism, Satanism is all about being an individual and not conforming to other people’s ideas of how you should be.

The only thing that was positive about WW2 was that it was a mistake that everyone learned from. My detractors and yours will claim that we are shining our Good Guy Badges but they are just trying to flip the table and draw less attention to themselves and their disgusting Nazi sympathizing ways. Real Satanists know who they are and don’t need validation from sheeple. My view on the political aspect of Nazism is that smart, intelligent, level-headed people are capable of governing themselves. I don’t need a tyrant or dictator telling me what to do, we as Satanists pave our own way but stupid people need government. If there weren’t any stupid people in America then there would be no government. Our economy would fail. Plus Hitler was half Jewish, I can’t take him seriously at all. Anton LaVey was also 25% Jewish. See? Not congruent at all. This was fun Venger! Thanks in advance!

9 Satanic Questions for SIN

May 15, 2008 on 1:37 pm | In 9 Satanic Questions, Satanism | No Comments

9 Questions for SIN, an energetic woman who i talk with on myspace and the CoC forum. Thanks for taking the time. Good answers.

1. Who are you?
My name is Alison Jones, I’m 35, Divorced, own my own home in VA with my 12 year old son. I am a single parent, artist, dancer, critical thinker and a Modern Satanist.

.

2. What does Satanism and the Satanic community mean to you?

Satanism to me, is paving your own way. Applying your will to obtain your goals, and not be pinned down by ’socially accepted’ norms. I have been paving my own way my entire life, raging against the machine that attempts to assimilate me, I will not be assimilated.

The ‘Satanic Community’ exists in cyberspace as far as I can tell. Throughout my life, I have found very few Satanists (Modern or Theistic) that I could tolerate let alone have join my sphere of existence (community). I enjoy the diversity within the cyber-community, we share ideas, kick around concepts and I see them as a useful tool as I too serve as a useful tool to the cyber-community. We are essentially, artificial companions in a virtual and complete environment.

.

3. What is Satanism working towards? What are you working towards?

Satanism today, is working towards being the last fad. I’ve noticed in the last 5 years or so, that people claim that they ‘used to be Satanists’. What ever happened to born not made? The Internet is a playground of inventions, re-inventions, and disinformation. I think people who have discovered Satanism (on the Internet) in the last ten years are tired of the varying definitions in cyber-space, the debates and the controversy between groups. This leads me to believe it is heading towards becoming a fad, and the Satanism of yesterday is becoming close to extinction. The Satanism of today is a cest-pool, and even the C.O.S. has jumped in the dis-information band-wagon.

I’m working towards what I always have been, living my life to the fullest, always in a state of production rather than consumption and living my life, my way.

.

4. How is Satanism similar and different than Humanist capitalism? And why should anyone care about such a distinction?
Well, that all depends on if you are speaking of secular humanism or the new humanist movement. Since we are talking about Satanism, I’ll assume we are discussing secular humanism, and its capitalist ideals. When discussing similarities, both Satanism and Secular Humanism work towards fulfillment, growth and creativity; so when placing it in the context of capitalism there are similarities but also distinct differences.

When making choices for one’s life, both philosophies work towards building a better world, because we each have to live in it. Our capitalism is what drives the world, and it is that driving force that can place us in harmony or opposition with one another. Secular Humanism places its bet on good will towards man, and tolerance in making progress. Satanism has its eye on the prize at all times, keeps a broad perspective, remains active, but tolerance is not required, or is good-will towards our fellow man. Activism in creating a ‘better world’ for the Satanist is key to survival. We can talk all day about Satanic capitalism but if its not put into practice, what good is it really?

Humanist capitalism works towards the fulfillment of the human race (as if we know what that is), where as Satanism works towards self-fulfillment. There is a clear distinction. As an individual, I have a pretty good idea about my wants, needs and aspirations to achieve fulfillment. As a race, who decides what fulfills us? It’s far too individual to draw such general conclusions.

.

5. Which is more important: originality or effectiveness? What about confidence and common sense?
I think effectiveness is key in succeeding in one’s goals, but in order to be ‘effective’ in today’s world you truly have to be original. As a human race, we are in a constant state of re-inventing ideas. It’s the same old shit, with a new name or face attached to it. It takes a completely original idea to shake things up. As a critical thinker, I consider all the options available to me and decide the best course of action to achieve my goals effectively, and in as short a time as possible.
When I have exhausted these options, I look for something ‘new’ to break the limitations of what is available to me. In order to succeed, you have to have a strong confidence in achieving your goals, and in your own abilities to achieve them. Confidence without common sense? That’s a recipe for self-defeating behavior. If your confidence out weights your ability to make decisions based on common sense, what do you really have? Maybe arrogance with nothing to back it up? People can be arrogant and stupid at the same time.

.

6. Describe the ideal Satanic political system in your view?
My Ideal political system would give each citizen the basic human rights each person is entitled to; without loop-holes to infringe upon those rights. I should be able to own property; free and clear without the risk of the government coming in to take it, and saying ‘Tough Shit, we have this loop hole’. I don’t need some silly figure head, which just acts as a scapegoat when something doesn’t work. I want more think-tanks to come up with workable solutions when something doesn’t work.

I also want analysis of what we have tried in the past, what the pits and downfalls were so we can say ‘well, we tried that and it didn’t work. Let’s take a look at the next thing.’ These think-tanks should be made up of diverse groups of people, versed in all the fields of knowledge. The tank should be kept full at all times, and with fresh ideas; never to stagnate with the unqualified and the same old ideas that have been proven to fail, time and time again.

.

7. If someone decided to give you a $500,000.00; what would you do with it? Would your answer change if Gilmore offered to sell you the Church of Satan for half a million in cash?

Initially I’d be skeptical about the gift, are the best things in life free? After thinking it through, and confirming that the money is free and clear, with no strings attached; I’d start by paying off all of my current debt, to include paying off my house. The next thing would be to set aside my son’s college fund + living expenses. The balance would serve as a means to an end. Having no debt, a legal residence in the U.S. and my son’s college fund taken care of I would travel. There’s a fair bit of the world I have not seen, and I do enjoy studying human behavior, especially those in other cultures. After having traveled for a fair bit of time, I would have obtained the knowledge required to finish my books, kick back and do what ever my heart desired – taking it day by day.

.

8. How do you use your sexuality as a female Satanist?

How do I not use it? It’s part of who I am. I’m often told I’m an intimidating person, and when I ask how I intimidate there are two main points that are given as explanations: The first being my confidence and the second my ‘sexual energy’. From the glare in my eyes, to the swing in my walk is my sexuality in action. Women are beautiful, and for the lack of a better term ‘objects’ of desire, aesthetically pleasing, and have natural assets that serve them well throughout their lives. I have used my sexuality for everything from getting a job, to winning favor with people to get the things I want. These femi-nazi’s cry out “The Objectification and Exploitation of Women!” I say, it is artistry.

.

9. What is one quality that post-modern Satanism could definitely use and what’s one quality that post-modern Satanism could definitely do without?

Post-Modern Satanism could definitely use a better sense of humor. I think some of these people take everything entirely too serious and they have forgotten how to laugh, especially at themselves. When they make a mistake, they are too hung-up on their own pride to admit it and have a good laugh about it. Which leads me to what Post-Modern Satanism could do with out: unqualified elitism. People who succeed in the world, and are effective communicators are among the elite. It’s these self-proclaimed elitists that spend far too much time counting chickens before they hatch, and clucking in the hen-house that they have forgotten that they too, should produce the goods or else shut the fuck up.

Advancing in the Cult: Becoming a Wizard of the Terrible Darkness

Now is the time for me to start thinking about all those official Cult of Cthulhu members of the first inner degree. If you have been a Herald of the Old Gods for at least nine months, then you may ask for an advancement review. The review process lasts for three months. In that time your initiative, actions, and demeanor will be thoroughly examined. This test will determine if a Herald is ready to enter the second inner degree in order to become a Wizard of the Terrible Darkness.

If you have been a Herald of the Old Gods for at least nine months and are ready for a greater workload, as well as greater glory, then read what is expected…

1. A commitment to spreading our teaching; working with people unfamiliar with H.P. Lovecraft, Satanism, black magic, and the Cult of Cthulhu in general. This means that a Cultist’s knowledge of our esoteric teaching has to be optimal.

2. Advancement in his or her own sorcery. A prospective Wizard of the Terrible Darkness must be able to point to their results. What are the recent successes? Tell the Cult about your latest black magic techniques.

3. Lastly, such a Cultist should stay in frequent contact with the High Priest and official members. The Cultist is ready to volunteer assistance and be supportive when need be. A Wizard is instrumental when it comes to CoC efficiency, functionality, and administration.

9 Satanic Questions for Szandora

This is a new feature on VSS! A few times a month, I’ll be asking active, prominent, or noteworthy Satanists nine questions. The Q&A will be posted here for all to view. Hope you enjoy. The first interviewee is Szandora. Her answers were a joy to read and I thank this gorgeous creature for being the first.

1. So you’re a model. What’s that like in this Aeon of MySpace and YouTube? Does your modeling inform your Satanism and vice versa?

I started doing erotica modeling when I was 18yrs old under the name Szandora. It was a self-created pseudonym that I came up with when I was 16 and used it as an email address. I look at it as the feminine personification of Satanism, combining Anton LaVey’s middle name and Pandora. I thought it was clever, evil and got the point across of what I wanted the world to recognize me as, a Satanist. A couple of years later www.szandora.com was created and I was off promoting Satanism using my body as my Satanic Altar.

Most of my shoots have some sort of Satanic undertone to them. Shortly after Szandora.com was created I started hula hooping, incorporating Satanic Rituals in my routine and manifesting my desires again through my “living altar”.

Yes, I think that my modeling/performance art does relay the message that I am trying to get across. I try to help the world understand that women are important to Satanism too. We can bare the torch and get recognition just as easily as any man is rising within the ranks of Satanism.

Myspace and YouTube are probably the easiest and most popular ways of getting noticed and your message heard within the virtual world of the internet. If you’re lucky it will bleed over into reality.

The Internet is just so darn instantaneous!

2. How important is image, aesthetic, and presentation to a model, a Satanist, and especially a Satanic Witch?

I don’t want to be shallow and say that image is everything, but it’s very important. We’ve all heard that the first impression is everything. The most common first impression that we can give another human being is a visual one.

I think especially in all three of those categories that image is very important. I wouldn’t be a model if I didn’t care for and create an image for myself. Being a professional/famous Satanist I always have to keep my image groomed and maintained. It is very important for Satanic Witches to use their femininity, looks and charm to obtain what she desires, whether it be a man, job, or that extra whip cream on her sundae at the ice cream parlor.

If she was sloven, none of the things she desired would manifest the way that she wanted them to.

However, the most important thing that you need to make your image pop is self worth and confidence. Without that you are just another pretty face with nothing else to offer.

3. Would you describe yourself as any of these: religious, spiritual, atheist, political, or philosophical? Why? Do you think one or more of these labels is necessary to a Satanist?

Religious, No. Satanism is a para-religion. Which means that it is an alternative to religion.

Atheist, No. I worship myself, hence making me believe in one god, me. Haha.

Political, Not exactly. As far as the leadership of this country my vote doesn’t count. Leadership of this country is prearranged and the run for presidency is just a way to extort money from the thousands of Americans that are dumb enough to believe that one person can change the world for the good. In the case of American politics, I’ve seen that one person can change the world for the bad and never have is seen it changed for the good of mankind.

If you are speaking of politics within social circles and settings, I would be guilty. You have to play social politics to get what you desire. But that is only done on a personal scale. Sometimes you just have to lean how to play nice.

Philosophical, yes. To me Satanism is a philosophy. The Satanic Bible is a systematic guideline for living life, taking no prisoners, responsibility to the responsible, punishment to those who deserve it, living life without regret, sexuality without hang-ups, no fear of judgment when we meet death and most of all survival. I’d call that more philosophical than religious.

4. If Satanism didn’t exist, is there an ideology already out there that could more or less replace it?

I wouldn’t say that any ideology could replace Satanism. However, one important ideology has always existed that I do agree with. It’s called humanism. If I weren’t a Satanist, I’d just be a plain old Humanist.

5. What do you look for in a partner, mate, and/or sexual conquest? How do you attract them? Is your personal method something learned, instinctual, or a bit of both?

I look for intelligence, self confidence, poise and they need to know how to dress themselves.

I attract someone I want by merely thinking about it and wanting it. If you want something bad enough you can attain it if you know how to apply your will.

Wanting and being wanted comes pretty instinctual for me, but it’s not going to come without work. It’s the whole package that someone wants. Like I said, you can’t just be a pretty face and expect the cards to fall into place. You have to work on yourself inside and out before you can attract the object of your desire.

6. When it comes to pop culture, music, TV, movies, fashion, etc… how does that affect your reality? do you embrace it or escape from it?

You have to be informed and know what’s going on to dominate your world. If I locked myself out from the world of pop culture, movies, fashion and especially music, I probably wouldn’t know how to communicate with people since most people live and thrive of one or more of those things.

Fashion is one of my favorite things. It allows people to be true individuals. There’s nothing worse than someone getting their fashion sense from a department store mannequin.

I don’t watch a lot of television, but I do have an extensive music and movie collection.

7. Is Satanism a distillation of natural man and woman? If so, then does this religion/movement need order, direction, and activists; or does Satanism take care of itself, finding its own way into human nature?

I do think that Satanism is pure and natural for those men and women who practice and actually understand it. Every movement needs guidance. Modern Satanism isn’t going to become or remain modern without people representing it in such a manner.

Satanism has always taken care of itself; it has never died or disappeared. Perhaps it has taken a break here and there, but powerful people have revived it from time to time.

I’m trying to put an end to the dormant Satanist. I support the thought of “power in numbers”. Without people working together, accepting who they are and that it takes all of us to build a strong community nothing will change and Satanism will be considered a belief of elitism. It’s individualism; no one is better or lower than you unless they have proven otherwise.

So I’m ready to build a community where Satanism will thrive rather than take a bow.

8. Do you practice black magic? If no, then why not. If yes, then can you describe your personal practices of this dark, forbidden art?

Yes, I do practice black magic. I usually perform solitary rituals. I don’t like to teach people how to practice magic because to me, everyone does it a little different. When you are going into rituals different people are feeling varied emotions about what you are trying to change or obtained which can scatter things into different directions.

I know what I want and how to get it. When I perform rituals alone, whatever I desire becomes reality.

I perform practical magic on a daily basis. Most people do, but don’t even realize it.

9. What can you say about Anton LaVey’s legacy?

It really depends on which legacy you are asking me about.

If you mean his actual legacy as in lineage I would say that it’s an odd one to say the least. But what family’s lineage isn’t? I respect Stanton and Karla for continuously working Satanism into the direction of the individualist. Zeena isn’t even considered Anton’s daughter or Stanton’s mother at this point and that’s by her own decision. I’ve hear that Xerxes is very bright and looks just like Anton. I’m not sure where his path will take him because of his youth. Plus, I’m not sure if the CoS is going to give him a title since Blanche (his mother) doesn’t own the CoS anymore. She sold it to Peter Gilmore.

If you are asking about the Legacy of the Church of Satan, I’d be more than happy to tell you exactly what I think. I believe that the CoS died with Anton LaVey. For one, there isn’t even a CoS anymore. The black house was torn down years ago and Gilmore is too much of a coward to create one of his own.

Anton offered the High Priesthood to Boyd Rice before he died and Boyd respectfully declined. It wasn’t until after his death that Peter Gilmore bought it and raised the membership cost from $50.00 to $200.00. That, in my opinion, is highway robbery for a red novelty card.

Anton LaVey loved novelty. He loved whoopy cushions, comic books, the carnival, and comedy. That’s why the CoS card was made. It was his novelty to share with the world. It really meant something to him. When Anton was alive you were subscribing to something that he still controlled. I can see someone paying $50.00 for the membership card. Now that he’s dead, the price has risen to $200.00. That is just pompous. Remember what Anton said “Satanists are born not made”, you don’t need a red card to prove that you are a Satanist. You innately know that you are one.

The website hasn’t been changed for years. You can pretty much knock the cobwebs off of it when your broswer brings up churchofsatan.com.

I believe in the Satanism that Anton LaVey cultivated not this contrived union of bald headed, wolfman beard havin’, cheap black suit and tie wearin’, coattail riddin’ fools. There is no creative stimulation coming from that camp.

The most creative thing they did (since Anton’s death) was a “ritual” in Hollywood the same day Stanton and I got married on 6-06-06. Did I mention that it was on the same street too? Stanton and I announced our wedding 6 months before they announced their cheap magic show, where their own members were outside protesting in front of local Los Angeles TV stations. Maybe about 100 people showed up to their shindig. Needless to say, 1,400 people showed up to our wedding. Glenn Danzig, Hank Williams III, 45 Grave, Dolemite, EL VEZ and Randy Blythe from Lamb of God performed at our wedding. Oh, and Snoop Dogg showed up. We gave Satanists something they could enjoy. It wasn’t to make us the center of attention. It was to highlight people who are prolific to Satanism and to have the public enjoy it. That’s Satanism… Like I said before, power in numbers.

It’s sad really, to see what’s come of the CoS. From changing the introduction to the Satanic Bible, to writing a book called the Satanic Scriptures, as if it’s some sort of companion piece to the Satanic Bible.

The audacity of these lackeys makes me want to vomit. That’s why Stanton and I have been trying so hard to promote Satanism as individualism, not elitism. So far I think we’ve been successful.

Something Awful On The Cream Tile Floor

The pencils and pens were in their place.  A girl just walked by carrying a load of laundry, her arms wide and back arched to accommodate the heap of clothing.  Stragglers drifted in and out of view as I peered out of the office window.  The sky was not white, nor grey, nor blue, but some aggregate of all three.  I sat in my soft leather desk chair; hopeful.

“Come and get the candy!”  A voice chimed from the hallway just outside my office.  It was a quick, high-pitched utterance, but not necessarily female.  There was something out of place in that voice and not only the voice but the words.  I had a premonition of dread.  Rising from my chair, I stepped out into the hallway.

Before me stood a guy dressed like a clown.  This clown looked like he’d seen 30 miles of bad road.  He was dirty, disheveled, and clearly deranged.  His orange hair was matted to his pancake white face.  Chaotic, emerald lips smeared.  Big, round, red nose.  The pattern on his ripped clothes was of diamonds.  Perhaps that made him part harlequin?  No matter.  The clown’s white gloves were blood stained, coworker corpses around his giant yellow feet.  The clown was reaching for me.  His fingers elongated and found their way around my throat.

“Fuck!”  I yelled while stabbing him with the butterfly knife that I always kept in my pants pocket.  The clown went down to his knees.  Blood spilled over the diamond pattern, onto the cream tile floor which, incidentally I had helped pick out… all over everything.

It took fifteen minutes for the police to arrive.  The clown corpse was swiftly taken away underneath a white blanket as if such a thing must be hidden from the conscious mind.  The police asked me about the knife, asked me about the clown, asked me about all sorts of extraneous details I had no knowledge of.  Finally, everyone left.  The only thing that remained of the incident was a bloodstain.  The clown’s blood was still there.  I guess police don’t bring mops to a crime scene.

I went home early that night, and the next day I was disturbed to see that the clown’s bloodstain had not been expunged from the hallway.
